surprisingly, that’s not a question she gets asked everyday. and surprisingly, she’s not really sure on the answer. (that’s the thing about working with other people. different skills, different… powers. but this is the fastest way to get about the city–)
‘uh… i’ll just–’ how does she awkwardly grab a hold of him without it looking… weird? (hey! we have an alien to stop, right?– duty calls!)
she holds a hand out. if we… do that, and you can– do your sticky thing and– hey, let’s just see what works.
‘you’re in safe hands, spiderman.’ i won’t drop you! not on purpose, anyway.
“hey –” he has every intention of continuing to speak here … maybe say something like ‘thanks, supergirl!’ or ‘hey, buy a spider dinner first wouldja?’ but he doesn’t. merely grabs her hand and applies the requisite amount of pressure to stick on her. it comes easier than he thinks – which, of course, with her isn’t exactly surprising.
what is surprising though, is the way it all feels right. not just the whole two superheroes fighting evil bit ( hell, one of the things he misses most back home is the whole avengers schtick ) – but the way their hands meld together easily. he’s not a stickler for that fate-destiny hullabaloo, though, maybe …
oops. she totally forgets about that. and totally pulls to a halt as the cape flicks round and whips her across the leg. (this may take some getting used to – not being the only one around. but hey. it’s fun, right?)
but first of all, who fights crime and wears a mask? it’s like you’re asking for people to think you’re shady. and second of all… – we’ve got an alien to stop.
‘sorry– i’m not… used to having a partner. want a lift?’
“Yeah – sure. I’ve never flown before, should be fine.” – should being the keyword here.
there’s a part of him that dreads the idea, though … it comes from her sheer speed. he’s attached himself to helicopters, falling planes, and an old man using antigravity to fly around but she’s faster than all of those combined – easily. but he nods and steps toward her panting … but willing.
“Heeey –” he whines, half-heartedly panting & running all at once. “Slow down, wouldja? I don’t have the advantage of being from another planet!” got the different universe part down at least.
